background

I started the Sound Summit three years ago through a desire to hold an epic rock concert in the suburbs of Mississauga. Being away from the downtown jungle doesn't allow for many adrenaline-pumping experiences. Tired of that, I rallied a few like minded people, coordinated with several local artists and a few months later we had a professional concert production, four rock bands and over 400 attendees.

The project required months of planning, design work and logistical preparation, all of which could not have been done without the desire to see the project through on a passionate basis. Given the success of the first year, we decided to donate all the profits made from ticket sales to charity. We are proud to say that we donated all profits in the following years to Sick Kids' Hospital and Sketch (a charity that supports youth through free arts & leadership programming.

As a proponent and avid supporter of local bands, many of which I know personally, we also wanted to make the Sound Summit an opportunity for local bands to perform for a large crowd, promote themselves and sell merchandise. So far we've brought in over 1,400 attendees and 12 local music artists together in just three shows.

I was responsible for the much of the event programming, acquisition of sponsorships, coordination of partner relations & and the website design which you can see here.
