background

The Slate journal was a writing pet project gone wild. Originally meant to be a small compilation between a group of writers, the journal had expanded to include over 45 writers & artists in the GTA as a means of creative empowerment for the community.

Working with a team of editors, photographers & designers, we created the Slate for the first time ever. It involved several painstaking months of collaboration and deliberation to bring all the pieces together. I personally worked on the book design and printers to make sure the final product was as close to what we envisioned with our limited resources.

We also solicited donations from the community to fund the project as well and, to our surprise, we surpassed our expectations. Over 250 copies were printed and distributed as a result.

You can see the final version of the journal here.
